Meet the chef: Heather Terhune
At the tender age of 4, Heather Terhune had just a couple of requests for her birthday: artichokes and spare ribs. It was then that her family realized they might have a foodie on their hands. Although she grew up in New England, Chef Terhune went to high school and college in Missouri and considers herself a proud Midwesterner. With the move to Milwaukee, she’s back to her roots after leading the charge for BDK Restaurant & Bar in San Francisco. At Tre Rivali, the memorable Top Chef contestant will use her venerable background — she’s worked everywhere from Jean Louis at The Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C., to Atwood and Sable Kitchen + Bar, both respected Chicago restaurants part of the Kimpton family — to create Mediterranean-inspired modern American fare.
